After his great success with the 2014 release of The Prairie Short Season Yard, Lyndon Penner returns with his new book Garden Design for the Short Season Yard: Everything You Need to Know for the Chinook and Canadian Prairie Zones. Prairie gardeners will be pleased with this first and only garden design book written specifically for the Canadian Prairie Zones. Intended as a do-it-yourself guide, Lyndon is adamant that everyone should be able to create a beautiful garden on their own without the considerable expense of hiring professionals.

Lyndon is the Feature Speaker at Gardenscape this year, and has also graciously promised to talk about his favourite perennials with members of the Saskatchewan Perennial Society this coming October. A landscape designer and horticultural consultant, Lyndon is a gardening columnist on CBC radio in Alberta and Saskatchewan. He resides in Calgary but frequently makes guest appearances at the University of Saskatchewan, Master Gardening Program.

The book is available at McNally Robinson Booksellers in Saskatoon. A short review is posted in our library section.
